Position Title: Events and Administrative Coordinator

The Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) currently has an opportunity to join our team. This part-time position will be responsible for coordinating and attending events along with administrative duties for MCCI. This role is our organization’s front-line staff person who provides prompt and excellent customer service to our members and guests. This member of our team will partner closely with the Executive Director, the board of directors and ambassadors.

Event Coordination Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinates venues, arrange food and beverage, order supplies, and event materials
  • Prepares and distributes invitations, RSVP list, sponsorships, invoicing, etc.
  • Coordinates marketing materials for events with the Executive Director.
  • Serve as a liaison with vendors on event-related matters
  • Coordinates on-site production and cleanup for events
  • Tracks event attendance and expenses
  • Adheres to approved budget expectations
  • Conducts post event activities
  • Conducts all other duties as assigned by Executive Director

Financial Coordination Essential Responsibilities 

  • Performs accurate recordkeeping for the organization
  • Maintains membership database information
  • Ensures proper cash management, timely and accurate accounts payable and receivable
  • Assists preparing financial reports and audit
  • Enters and maintains all financial activities into QuickBooks and Chamber Master
  • Administers payroll and employee benefits tracking
  • Reconciles monthly bank statements
  • Administers Monroe Money, issue checks and record keeping.

Expectations/Benefits:

  • Part-time hourly position with an average of 20-25 hour per week
  • Pay is based upon the candidate’s qualifications
  • Flexible hours with occasional evening and weekends
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and access to insured, reliable transportation
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) is provided for employee’s scheduled 20 or more hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • An engaging personality and knowledge of the Monroe community
  • Minimum of three years experience working with the public in a professional environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with Payroll and bookkeeping in QuickBooks online version

 Exceptional candidates would possess

  • Experience with WordPress, graphics creation software
  • Understanding of marketing and B2B social media campaigns
