Position Title: Operations and Events Manager

Position Summary

This part-time position will be responsible for organizing, managing and executing events along with the administrative operations for the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  The Operations and Events Manager works to ensure prompt and excellent customer service to our members, and works closely with the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and other community resources.

Operations/Administration

  • Manage and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
  • Handle membership invoicing in a timely manner, including sending thank you letters and standard membership communication.
  • Compose and execute bi-monthly newsletters.
  • Administers Monroe Money, issues checks and record keeping.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the office to ensure smooth functioning.

Event Management Essential Responsibilities

  • Manages venues, arranges food and beverage, order supplies, and event materials.
  • Directly or via other resources prepares and distributes invitations, RSVP lists, sponsorships, invoicing, etc.
  • Manages marketing materials for events with the Executive Director.
  • Serves as a liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
  • Manages on-site production and cleanup for events.
  • Tracks event attendance and expenses
  • Prepares and manages approved budgets.
  • Managers post event evaluations and related activities.
  • Conducts other duties as assigned.

Expectations/Benefits:

  • Part-time hourly position with an average of 20-25 hour per week
  • Flexible hours with occasional evening and weekends
  • Must have a clean driving record and access to reliable transportation
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) is provided for employee’s scheduled 20 or more hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • An engaging personality and knowledge of the Monroe community
  • Experience working with the public in a professional office environment
  • An associate degree in business administration or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of marketing and B2B social media campaigns
